London (Web Desk): Following the resumption of PIA flights to France, the United Kingdom has also decided to review the possibility of restoring PIA’s operations next month. PIA has been banned from operating flights to the UK since July 2020.
According to British media, the UK Safety Committee has reportedly scheduled a meeting on March 12, 2025, to assess the resumption of direct PIA flights to the UK. During the meeting, the committee will review the feasibility of restoring PIA operations, with the UK Civil Aviation Authority and the Department for Transport (DfT) presenting the latest audit reports of PIA and Pakistan’s Civil Aviation Authority. If the UK Safety Committee grants approval, PIA will be able to restart direct flights to the UK.
It is noteworthy that PIA’s management is optimistic about resuming operations to the UK, following successful reinstatements in European countries. The airline has already devised a plan to immediately launch flights to London, Manchester, and Birmingham upon receiving approval. A two-member PIA team recently returned to Pakistan after evaluating preparations for flight operations in the UK.
Last month, PIA resumed its European operations with a flight to Paris on a Friday, marking a significant step in restoring its international services.
