London (Web Desk) – Due to farmers’ protest, British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer had to cut short his visit to a housing development in Buckinghamshire. The protest was against proposed changes to inheritance tax laws.
During the visit, a group of demonstrators driving tractors created a commotion, honking their musical horns while the Prime Minister was speaking to workers on-site. Around a dozen tractors and vehicles blocked the road near the Eastbrook development in Milton Keynes.
Prime Minister Starmer defended his government’s stance amid the noisy protest by angry farmers at the housing site. He also defended his Chancellor following allegations of involvement in an “expenses scandal.”
Addressing the protest, Starmer said the public faces a choice between a better standard of living and “tax breaks for farmers.” He acknowledged that the demonstration highlighted an “important debate that we, as a country, need to have.”
He insisted that the budget aimed to stabilize public finances, including “tough but necessary decisions” such as national insurance contributions for businesses and ending inheritance tax breaks for farmers.
