“AI tab will replace the “Communities” tab in the bottom navigation bar”
Instant messaging application WhatsApp is expected to introduce a dedicated tab for artificial intelligence (AI) features and tools.
Currently, WhatsApp offers Meta’s AI-powered Llama chatbot. However, the new feature will introduce a separate tab for AI tools within the app.
According to a website that tracks WhatsApp updates, experts at the messaging platform are working on launching the AI tab, and limited testing has already begun with select users. Reports suggest that the AI tab will replace the “Communities” tab in the bottom navigation bar.
Once the AI tab is introduced, the “Communities” tab will be removed. However, users will still be able to access community features and create new communities.
Through the AI tab, users will not only access all of Meta’s AI tools and features but also other popular AI tools, ensuring broader availability within WhatsApp. It is expected that users will be able to utilize all AI tools without leaving the app.
WhatsApp has been working on this feature for quite some time, and limited access has already been granted to users in select countries. While an official release date has not been confirmed, the feature is likely to be rolled out later this year.
