Meta has begun planning to develop human-like robots based on artificial intelligence (AI) technology. According to a Bloomberg report, the social media company is working on creating humanoid robot hardware and intends to utilize AI technology for this purpose.
Previously, Meta developed virtual reality headsets and smart glasses, but now the company aims to create robots that can assist with household tasks.
The report states that no final decision has been made yet, but the option has not been ruled out either.

It further mentions that Meta has initiated discussions with robotics companies such as Figure AI and others to provide them with software, sensors, and computing packages developed by Meta’s Reality Labs. Additionally, this division will focus on establishing robotics safety standards.
In an internal memo, Meta’s CTO Andrew Bosworth wrote that the investments and advancements made in Reality Labs and AI will be leveraged to further progress in the field of robotics. He added that expanding Meta’s products would enhance the value of Meta AI.
