The schedule for this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL) season has been released. According to Cricinfo, the IPL 2025 final will be hosted at Kolkata’s iconic Eden Gardens Stadium. The final match of this season is set to take place on May 25.
The opening match of IPL 2025 will also be played in Kolkata on March 22, while the stadium will additionally host Qualifier 2 on May 23. Previously, Eden Gardens hosted the IPL final in 2013 and 2015.
In the playoff stage, Qualifier 1 and the Eliminator match will be held in Hyderabad on May 20 and 21, respectively. IPL 2025 will feature a total of 74 matches and will run for 65 days, including 12 double-headers (two matches in a single day).

The tournament’s opening match will be played between the defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore. This season, the 10 participating teams have been divided into two groups:
- Group 1: Kolkata Knight Riders, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Rajasthan Royals, Chennai Super Kings, Punjab Kings.
- Group 2: Sunrisers Hyderabad, Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Titans, Mumbai Indians, Lucknow Super Giants.
IPL 2025 matches will be played across multiple cities, including New Delhi, Lucknow, Kolkata, Bangalore, Mohali, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Dharamshala, Visakhapatnam, and Guwahati.
