Dubai- The International Cricket Council (ICC) has officially announced the prize money for the upcoming Champions Trophy, with a significant 53% increase from the previous edition.
According to the ICC statement, a total of $6.9 million will be distributed among the teams. The champions will claim a grand prize of $2.24 million, while the runners-up will receive $1.12 million.
Teams reaching the semi-finals but failing to progress further will still secure $560,000 each. Additionally, every victory in the group stage will be rewarded with $34,000. The teams finishing in fifth and sixth place will earn $350,000 each, whereas those ending up in seventh and eighth place will receive $140,000. Every participating team will also be granted $125,000.
The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is set to take place in Pakistan from February 19 to March 9, marking the first ICC event in the country since 1996. Matches will be hosted in Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi, while India’s fixtures are scheduled to be played in Dubai. The tournament will feature eight teams divided into two groups, with the top two from each group advancing to the semi-finals.
