OpenAI has made its artificial intelligence (AI) search engine more accessible, allowing users to utilize it just like Google.
ChatGPT initially introduced its search engine in October 2024, offering advanced features for a fee. However, in December 2024, OpenAI announced its plans to make the search engine easier for public use. Now, the company has taken a major step by removing the requirement to create an account, making the tool open to everyone.
According to a leading tech website, users can now access ChatGPT’s search engine on any web browser without the need for an account or login. This development means that people can use it just as they use Google.
ChatGPT claims its search engine is powered by AI tools, enabling users to search both through text and voice commands.
It is also worth noting that along with simplifying its search engine, ChatGPT recently launched a new version of its AI chatbot for free.
This move comes amid growing competition with Chinese AI rival DeepSeek. To stay competitive, ChatGPT has started offering several features for free, as DeepSeek provides all its features without any cost.
