Instagram is introducing a feature never seen before on the photo-sharing app. Yes, Instagram tests dislike button for comments.
The company has confirmed that this new button is currently being tested for comments, allowing users to signal when they dislike a comment or feel it is irrelevant to the post.
This feature has appeared on both Instagram feed posts and Reels but is currently available to a limited number of users.
Instagram head Adam Mosseri revealed in a Threads post that the company will not display the dislike count, meaning no one will know if you have disliked a comment.
He further explained that over time, dislikes will help rank comments more effectively.
“Some of you may have noticed a new button in the comments section, which we are currently testing,” said Mosseri. He added that this button allows users to indicate their dislike for a specific comment anonymously.
